email: This email voices my support for to END THE WAR AGAINST THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE in Mexico. I have been following closely the events in Chipas and elsewhere in Mexico. I am distrurbed that the PRI has not fulfilled its obligations re: the San Andres Accords, moreover; that the government has not been willing to negotiate with the EZLN; rather they have tried to solve the problem using the counter-insurgency operations, murder, torture and "buying off" peoples in the controlled communities. As the mexican government and embraced the new neoliberal agenda, the poverty in Chipas has increased, resulting in exploitation of lands, resources and a overall marginalization of peoples--socially, economically and politically. The abolition of Article 27 re: "ejidos" leaves no hope for these dispossed groups. I urge the PRI to negotiate in good faith, respect the San Andres Accords and i offer my full support to the EZLN and other groups in their struggle for autonomy and will continue my involvement with the struggle as long as it takes. For the last five years they have sent their message out --for indigenous autonomy and an end to repression-- and received feedback of all forms. Theirs is not just a local struggle for justice and freedom but one that has become paradigmatic for this period. Against neoliberalism and for humanity struggles are multiplying and linking up. We are beginning to see the possibility, for the first time in history, of a grassroots ability to confront the Power of capital at its own global level. For that we can thank the Zapatistas and their continuing invention of new alternatives to the way things are.

The majority of informed people throughout the world know that the government of Mexico is corrupt, desperate for money to pay its foreign debts, and therefore stealing everything it can from its native peoples. The majority of the world knows that the Zapatista movement is trying to prevent that theft, and that is why the Mexican government is doing everything it can to harass and repress the Zapatista movement. My prayers go for the safety of the native peoples of Mexico and for a Mexican state with justice and peace.
I am very disturbed by the Mexican government's refusal to honor the San Andreas Accords. Every means necessary must be taken to stop the war against the indigenous people! I support the Consulta!

Estoy de acuerdo a todas preguntas de la Consulta. El gobierno mexicano tiene que cumplir a los Acuerdos de San Andres, si dice que ha intentado a mejorar a la vida de los indigenas. Pienso que no es separacion de los indigenas realizar los derechos indigenas como dice en los acuerdos, pero es respeto a sus costumbres y tambien manera de conseguir la vida normal como otros mexicanos para los indigenas que han sido siempre explotados. Deseo sinceramente que todos mexicanos entiendan la importancia de derechos humanos de los indigenas y otros mexicanos, y la democracia de Mexico.
Mi apoyo a los Acuerdos de San Andrés y a las acciones que plantea el EZLN.

Desde Uruguay nuestro apoyo y caluroso saludo.
Quiero por la presente, manifestar mi apoyo a los tratados de San Andrés y a todos los derechos que tienen las comunidades indígenas de México como a los de cualquier ser humano del mundo. No se si esto tiene el peso de un voto ,espero o deseo que asi sea ,o en su defecto el solidarizarme con la lucha del EZLN por tierra y libertad. Ideales éstos que fueron abanderados por Emiliano Zapata y Pancho Villa héroes de la lucha por la liberación del pueblo mexicano.A mi país llegan noticias de masacres a las comunidades indígenas,de las terribles carencias y necesidades que tienen los indígenas chiapanecos ,de la desesperanza de ese pueblo al ser ignoradas sus necesidades y además la triste realidad de que el gobierno responde con fusil a sus pedidos. Yo creo, como decía Martí que "los derechos se toman no se piden, se arrancan no se mendigan". De manera que espero que esto contribuya a lograr que se termine el exterminio de los indígenas mexicanos, a que se establezca una paz, y que sean escuchados los acaudillados por el Subcomandante Marcos para que puedan vivir por la patria, y no tener que sacrificarse por una libertad que les corresponde por derecho y dignidad. Por la libertad y los derechos de las comunidades indígenas: viva Chiapas!, viva el EZLN!, viva Zapata!.

I am in full support of the Consulta, demonstrating again the Zapatistas commitment to creating the conditions for dialogue and mutual transformation between different sectors.
